Overview.
Nollywood is the second-largest film industry in the world — but until recently, it lacked the infrastructure to track, protect, and monetize its content on a global scale.
Gabosky Films set out to change that.
I was brought on as Lead Technology Consultant to architect and deliver the industry’s first comprehensive media distribution ecosystem — a secure, cloud-powered platform capable of managing Nollywood’s entire content lifecycle, from production to consumer, anywhere in the world.

The Challenge.
Before MDMS™, the Nigerian film industry faced systemic issues:
- No centralized, accurate industry data
- No verifiable tracking from content creation to end-user consumption
- Rampant piracy eating into revenue streams
- Fragmented distribution relying on third-party platforms with no transparency
The opportunity was clear: build a unified, data-driven system that empowers content owners, distributors, and investors while protecting intellectual property.
Solution.
We engineered the Media Distribution Management System (MDMS™) — a cross-platform, web-based application hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud, with a fully responsive interface accessible from any device, anywhere in the world.
The platform features two key environments:
- Administrative Console — Role-based dashboards for global admins, national & regional distributors, sub-distributors, and content owners. Includes real-time performance tracking, order management, DRM content control, and end-to-end distribution visibility.
- Consumer Portal — A sleek, public-facing platform where viewers can browse, preview, rent, and stream Nollywood content through DRM-protected streaming or secure downloads.
